Rice-Moong Kichadi

Ingredients:
Rice – 2 tbsp
Moong dal – 1 tbsp
Carrot – 1 small piece
Water – 1 cup
cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt – a pinch
Ghee - 1/4 tsp
Method:
Wash the rice and dal well.
Pressure cook carrot, turmeric powder, salt, rice and dal for 3 whistles.
Mash the rice and dal well while hot until it becomes smooth.
Heat ghee, add cumin seeds and mix well with kichdi
Feed warm.
Nutritional highlights – Rice provides carbohydrate where as dal is rich in protein. Carrot is rich in vitamin A. Ghee provides essential fatty acids.
